I’m still processing what just happened tonight.

An impromptu dance party occured in our house tonight! (I’ll post if the background music doesn’t get flagged for copyright).

This led to the boys dancing around the new sensory room and running all over the upstairs.

At one point, Jonah opened the door and Jonny was on the other side, and clear as day Jojo says (unprompted),

“OH HI BUBBA! HOW ARE YOU?” (‘Bubba’ is the nickname we always use for Jonny)

Jonny said “IM GOOOOOD!! and gave him a big hug.

Dancing continued late into the night (promptly stopping at 9:30 for teethbrushing and bedtime)

You guys, a year ago, this kid could barely say a word!

I remember going through pages of other parents’ who were having tremendous victories with their kids and thinking, “I wish that was us.”

With autism you take the bad with the good and the “bad” can be REAL bad, so we learn to truly appreciate any “good” we can get.

Like these moments. I wish I knew how to harness them.

I wish I knew what it was that sparked in Jojo with the breakthroughs we’ve had recently so I could put it in a bottle to send to all of you.

And some to save for us for later.

Because like I said, with autism, you take the bad with the good, and this journey is anything but easy.
