For those of you new to this concept, forgemories (pronounced “for-GHE-mor-ees”) are “Forgotten Memories.”

My family has a history of Alzheimer’s and Dementia, and while my mind is still (pretty much) in tact, I feel I have an obligation to my children, grandchildren, and posterity in general to tell my stories of childhood with as much truth to be told as possible.

As I grow older, I realize I am absolved from all factual nonsense regarding stories of my youth and will most likely lace a sliver of truth with as much exaggeration and epic tall-tale entertainingly eloquent (but still mythical) prose to get a chuckle from the grandkids, all the while forgetting ENTIRELY what really happened.

While such may be the way of things as one ages, I feel, while I am in possession of a capable memory and the means by which to record them, I can effectively correct my future self 40 years from now so that my grand-children can jog my likely-fading memory and I will not have AS MANY gaps to creatively fill in.

ENJOY!
