When Jonah was three…

When Jonah was three, he had virtually no pretend play. We were told that a “lack of pretend play” was an early marker for autism.

The first time (and ANY time really), I caught Jonah playing “pretend” with anything, I would record him playing.

I would celebrate. I would post it for all to see.

What I didn’t realize was that Jonah WOULD eventually develop a VAST imagination.

Five years later, Jonah has constructed “Casita’s House” from Encanto complete with an electric candle using nothing but “My Busy Books,” and a toy bus.

My Busy books have compartments built into them which are PERFECT “wall spaces” for “Bruno” to hide.

This is something he can construct himself AND DESTROY himself without putting any (more) holes in our walls.

HOW CREATIVE IS THAT!?

I will NEVER stop celebrating this boy’s imagination.

I love this kid.
