Monday, Jonah was si…

Monday, Jonah was sick.

Very Sick.

Monday, Jonah had a temp over 104°F (40°C).

Monday, Jonah was literally gagging down liquid medicine I knew he found revolting one little drop at a time and yet refusing to let me take it away because I told him it MIGHT help him to “feel better.”

Monday, Jonah fell asleep on the dining room chairs around 2pm and didn’t really wake up until Tuesday.

Monday, Jonah was SICK.

Today, Wednesday, Jonah is not sick.

Today, Jonah has ZERO symptoms of ANY kind of “sickness.”

Today, Jonah woke up with a big smile on his face, giggling.

Today, Jonah was chomping at the bit to go [all the places] before the sun even came up.

Before it was 8am, Jonah had already tried to turn the kitchen sink into a “waterfall”…

He had tried to climb up our refrigerator to reach the scissors stored in our “high place” he can’t reach… just so he could cut his hair again.

He stripped down and put on “Bubba’s clothes” because it’s funnier, and he is “hilarious.”

Today, I tried two different movies on the TV and gave Jonah his tablet loaded with YouTube and new fun apps so I could finish my 2nd cup of coffee.

Jonah ignored it all because being inside with “screens” is “no fun and ‘boring.’”

Daddy is fatigued. Daddy has no energy.
Jonah does not have this problem. Jonah is bouncing off the walls.

Sometimes, literally.

He cannot abide being inside unless absolutely necessary, and then only if all the doors are locked.

So off we go… back to the beach in January. In the freezing cold. In the rain. Out of the house… but away from the people.

If it was any other time period in his life, Jonah would be in school right now.

Instead, he gets one day of being sick and nine days of “isolated” vacation.
