I love this post from Maddox’s Autism Chronicles. This doesn’t mean parenthood isn’t difficult, or that there aren’t days I just want to give up… It’s true. This journey is not easy. But I heard a saying a while back. “A ‘burden’ does not come with a disability. The ‘burden’ comes from the DEVALUATION of someone with a disability.” It’s the difference between “I HAVE to…” “I WANT to…” and… “I GET to.”
