“Well, at least I don’t have to hide the step ladder anymore… he can climb the counters by himself now.”

Jonah will crouch on the kitchen counter and turn on the faucet, filling cups of water and repeatedly dumping them on top of the spout.

I snapped this shot of Jonah the other day and it got me thinking.

What is it that Jonah loves so much about the water?…

It IS fascinating to watch, but many things can be fascinating.

I found this answer from “the internet” from an autistic individual (only known by the username “gsshpy”)

It seems to make more sense to me.

“I literally can’t filter out my vision, so I see everything at once. Because of this water is calming. I can see the waves and ripples and textures which all form patterns. It’s one of the few things I can look at which isn’t too overwhelming. There’s not many moving things and when it does move it’s part of the pattern…”
