I think every Ausome parent needs to hear this.

I think every Ausome parent needs to hear this.

Because we’ve all been there. We’ve been there through the screaming, the hitting, the throwing things, the aggression, and we have all went through the phase where we feel that the meltdown is our failure as a parent.

What did we do wrong? What cues did we miss? What did we forget to do? What should we have NOT done?

And through it all, you know what?

Life happens.

It just does. Sometimes, the unpredictability of life meets the autism need for routine, and meltdowns happen.

Sometimes, it’s just unavoidable.

But like my friend at Stories About Autism says, things will get better.

You are an Ausome parent doing an Ausome job. There is no other person who can do what you do.

You will figure it all out together… this thing called “life.”
