Thank You.

Growing up in the ‘80s, Toys”R”Us and Chuck E Cheese were THE places of ultimate fun for a kid around here.

Chuck E Cheese was reserved almost exclusively for birthdays, but anytime we earned a special reward, it was ALWAYS a trip to Toys “R” Us.

30-some-odd years later Chuck E Cheese isn’t really the same anymore… and Toys “R” Us is going out of business…

Today, we had to run some errands in the “Toy Store” area and we decided we needed to take a trip to the ol’ place.

They might have some great “Going out of business” sales.

I told Jonny this might be the last trip we ever take there and at first he was sad, but then he realized the opportunity he had and asked for a $400 PS4 (he didn’t get it).

We walked up and down the familiar aisles with the various toys for children of every age.

I remember doing the same with my parents, looking for that Lego castle with a draw bridge, or a toy cement truck, or a new Nintendo game, or one of a thousand toys I’ve ogled over the years.

And now coming full circle, I was doing the same with my kids.

The store we were at hasn’t been given a closing date yet and there were no “going out of business” sales. But we rarely frequent the area so it may very well be the last time we visit the store.

Jonny wanted to buy almost everything in the store. He finally settled on a “Roblox action figure set.”

And wanting to be fair, we also looked for a toy for Jonah. He found a “Little People” farm that was almost the same price and immediately grabbed it off the shelf.

We went up and paid for the toys. Of course, neither of the toys were on sale.

But both boys had a huge grin on their faces. Time and money well-spent.

As we were leaving, Jonny said his “goodbyes.”

“Bye-Bye Toys”R”Us! Thanks for all the Toys! Have a fun time in heaven.”

We initially went to see if we could find some good deals. We didn’t find any.

But what we found… what we left with, was a bit of fun for the kids, and a piece of nostalgia from a lifetime of fun-filled memories for Mom and Dad…

One last time.

Thank you Toys”R”Us.

So we ran into Blipp…

So we ran into Blippi at the park today. 🤪🤷‍♂️ We weren’t actually LOOKING for Blippi. We were looking for geese. There…
