Jonah has been showing that he wants to be more and more independent…

Jonah has been showing that he wants to be more and more independent and he wants to do things HIS way.

The kid beats to his own drum.

Yesterday, he pulled down an assortment of Mama’s containers out and started playing ‘pretend’ with them… Everything from lotions to hair sprays to oils. He lined them up in different ways and was ‘talking’ at/to them. He wanted to take them to bed with him and cried when I wouldn’t let him.

he is also innovative.

A while ago he started looking at the shape of his Marble Run pieces, and naming letters he recognized by their shape. Now he is taking multiple pieces and combining them to form different letters.

For instance, he put a piece that looked like an upper case “C” and a piece that looked like a lower case “L” together and yelled “D!”

I wouldn’t even have thought of that. Especially not at 4 years old.

And he is getting more independent.

A couple days ago, when I went to brush his teeth, he ripped the toothbrush out of my hand (I prepared for him to throw it) but instead, he got a little mischievous grin and started brushing his teeth himself. [I know right??]

He wants to pour his own milk now. And he is GOOD at it.

And all these skills will serve him well in life.

He’ll NEVER be put in an ‘average’ cardboard box. He is a boundary pusher.

He’ll be the one who puts HIMSELF in a cardboard box, only after he has transformed it into a spaceship and can blast off to the stars.
