Do your kids play with things that aren’t actually “toys?”
My kids do. All the time.
This is “Fox Hat.”
Aside from “Darthy” (Jonny’s stuffed Darth Vader), he is Jonny’s FAVORITE toy.
Yes, Fox Hat is a “He.”
Jonny will describe Fox Hat as a dear friend.
Fox Hat is as dear to Jonny as one of his most prized possessions.
He was a homemade Christmas present from his Auntie.
They have a strict “no toy” policy at school, but Fox Hat sneaks in every day disguised as a mere winter hat.
Jonny plays with Fox Hat the same way he plays with “Darthy” (stimming with the tassels), his face full of joy.
Jonny will willingly put him away in his backpack if he needs to, but he loves playing with him every chance he gets.
But Last week, he came home devastated. He played with Fox Hat so much, Fox Hat had begun to unravel.
We can’t just “get him another one.” He needs to be fixed.
So Fox Hat has been “shelved” until we can figure out a way to fix him.
Just like Woody in Toy Story 2. 🙁
