Regression is just part of autism. It is by far the most challenging thing for me to accept… that all the hard work he has been doing can be “undone” at any time.

One of Jojo’s favorite pastimes is watching the videos I have taken on my phone.

If there are words he used to say that he no-longer does, he can remind himself of how to say them.

If there is a skill he has previously learned, if I have it recorded on my phone, he can help to re-teach himself, should the need arise.

Regression may just be a part of autism, but we won’t let it stop us.
