-MORAL DILEMMA-…

-MORAL DILEMMA-

So I was out shopping yesterday trying unsuccessfully to keep Jojo awake.

He was insanely tired, but I was at the point where I would prefer a public daytime meltdown rather than a late night/early morning fiasco because he could not sleep that night.

Anyways…

When I had finished shopping, I loaded up both my kids and my groceries in the car and noticed, there, Next to jojo was a $5 package of mac-n-cheese I had forgotten to pay for.

So in this dilemma I had 3 options:

1) Carry on as if I hadn’t noticed. Drive home, eat the mac-n-cheese. Maybe feel guilty. Rip the barcode off. Secretly scan it and purchase it at my next excursion to the grocery store to alleviate the guilt.

2) Leave the kids (8yo and 3 yo) in the car, one playing on his tablet, one sleeping, to go back in and pay for the mac-n-cheese.

3) Unload the kids from the car again and cram them into the uncomfortable shopping cart (trolley) risking a possible meltdown from the 3 year old which may not abate for quite some time given the level of exhaustion, in order to go back and pay for the mac-n-cheese.

I’d like to say there is a correct answer though I don’t know that we would all agree on which one is correct.

What would you do?
