1980’s – Silverwind

This group came to our church and sang in the early 80’s. Georgian Banov was their lead singer and he did a kids album entitled “Papa’s Rainbow” my sister and I used to listen to all the time. This song is from their “Song in the Night” album on a blue tape and it just takes me back to when I was 3 years old.

It is a haunting melody that sounds like it ought to be on the “Tetris” Soundtrack. It features lots of children smiling, running on a beach and playing on a playground dressed in typical 80’s garb… or is it? Is it a “slasher” film flash back? Is it a dramatic time lapse through the eyes of a crazed killer? As you watch it, you find yourself wondering, “Are the children going to live through the song?” *gasp*

It is actually a Christian song with a positive message. Silverwind ministered to many many people around the world. This song just has that “eerie feel.” It is one of those songs that get’s stuck in your head….then you forget it for 25 years, and hear it again…then get’s stuck in your head again.
