Jonah has his school…

Jonah has his school routines. Weather cannot change them. During the winter, when school was delayed for weather, we waited 2+ hours on the sidewalk with snow on the ground in the freezing cold because “our routine” dictated that the bus would come at a very specific time and we had better be ready for it. Today is no different. On average, Jonah is out waiting for the bus a half-hour before it is scheduled to come. Today it is raining. I asked Jonah if he would like to wait in the house… “absolutely not.” I asked Jonah if he would like to wait “NEXT TO” the house under the shelter of our roof overhang… “absolutely not.” There is a very precise location “bus waiting” happens and that is on the sidewalk… weather makes no difference. It is a small miracle that Jonah is willing to at least hold an umbrella today while waiting. He would be SOAKED by the time he got to school. It’s also fortunate that we have more than one umbrella. Because do you know who else is not allowed to wait inside, or under the roof overhang or ANYWHERE else remotely warm or dry? 🙋‍♂️🥶
