Current dilemma.
Mama and Auntie went to get a well-deserved pedicure.
After Jonny called Auntie to let her know he found a library book he had been missing for over a year (checked out on her card), Jojo heard Mama in the background and now wants to “go find Mama.”
But he doesn’t want Daddy to stop him so he has locked Daddy IN the house.
Mind you, the door locks from the inside so in order to keep Daddy from following him, he has laid down on the front step so he can pull the door shut if Daddy so much as cracks the door.
Daddy can see him just fine so this arrangement would be okay in most cases…
But today is one of the hottest days of the year with temperatures in the mid-90s (35° C) in the shade and Jojo won’t be able to stand it for long.
Will see how this develops…

UPDATE:
Jojo slowly moved toward the car parked in our driveway. It was very “subtle.” 🤣
He squatted next to it for about 5 minutes before he decided to open the car door and climbed on in, shutting the door behind him.😳
I almost always have the car doors locked, but apparently, I forgot today.
If I wasn’t vigilant, this could have gone sideways VERY quickly. You see, all the back seat doors have child-proof locks enabled (out of necessity). Jonah cannot open the back doors from the inside.
He doesn’t typically enter or exit through the front doors so I’m not sure if he would think to climb up there to exit.
And with the temperature outside, it could have made for a potentially deadly situation VERY quickly.

Man, if ever I needed a reminder to stay vigilante as a parent…wow. Today was it.
