So over the pandemic…

So over the pandemic…

So over the pandemic, Jonah developed a TON of anxieties.

Most of them have faded over the last few months except for a few.

Every time I put on a long sleeved shirt…

Every time I put on a shirt with a collar…

As a matter of fact any time I am NOT dressed in grubby clothes or shorts and a t-shirt, Jonah will scream at me “Daddy, change your clothes!!” until I put on scrubs again.

Any shirt I wear must have some kind of print on it, and be preferably short-sleeved.

If I am inside, I cannot be wearing a sweater, coat, or shoes.

Jonah screams at me until I change into my “pandemic uniform” of sweats or shorts and a t-shirt.

It took me a long time to figure out the reasoning behind it.

Any time I am dressed up, I am going somewhere, and during the pandemic, most times, it would be without him.

So Jonah has come to associate me getting dressed up with him being left behind at home.

😕

And he has had ENOUGH of being at home.

So that is what he is screaming about.

“DADDY! Don’t leave me behind anymore! I cannot stay at home!”

“I MUST GO ALL THE PLACES AND DO ALL THE THINGS!!”

Poor guy.

Eventually as he figures out we can go places again, I’m confident he will get past this phase, but until then, I’m stuck wearing my sweats and grubby t-shirts for a while.

😎🤷‍♂️
