Guys. I messed up.
Arlo and Spot are missing.
The Arlo and Spot (2 of 10) tiny action figures that come with The Good Dinosaur book (My Busy Books) have “gone on an adventure.”
They are Jonah’s favorites right now. He even takes them to the beach. Jonah has put them… somewhere… and I have no idea where they could be.
I anticipated this possibility months ago and purchased replacement action figures online for just such an occasion.
All of the extra characters I ordered would serve as viable replacements EXCEPT for Arlo and Spot.
When they arrived, I noticed that the Arlo character was painted YELLOW instead of green, and Spot’s loincloth was not painted at all.
That just WILL NOT WORK for Jonah.
I tried to go buy a new book with the action figures again but it was discontinued in 2015.
I went onto Amazon and eBay and the “My Busy Book” which included the action figures was available for purchase there…
…for around $75. 😳
I’m not THAT desperate…
…yet.
We found a more reasonably priced one on offer-up and have ordered it. Who knows how long it will take to get here.
In the meantime, Mama found a Peppa Pig “My Busy Book” over the weekend that she thought Jonah might enjoy. It also came with about 10 action figures.
It has served to distract him temporarily, because he is not asking about “Arlo and Spot” every second of every day anymore.
No no.
Yesterday, he started saying “Pedro” over and over again.
At first, I had no idea what that meant. And then I realized…
You guys.
“Pedro Pony” has joined Arlo and Spot on their adventure. 🤦♂️
“All done ‘Pedro is hiding!’” (Jonah does not approve)
Fortunately, the Peppa Pig book is still sold in stores so yesterday, I went and purchased another backup set of PEPPA PIG characters which were only filling in for the missing Good Dinosaur characters.
So how did I mess up?
Well, when I write up posts for my page, I like to include relevant images.
I didn’t have a good image of “Arlo and Spot” so I downloaded the one you see here to my phone.
A while back, I linked my iPhone Photos account to both Jonny AND Jonah’s tablets because they like to see the videos and pictures I have taken.
So yesterday, Jonah was looking through his Photos and he saw the picture of Arlo and Spot that I downloaded for this post.
And Jonah assumed I had taken that picture and that I had indeed found Arlo and Spot, which I have not.

I am trying to convince Jonah that his characters are not here yet.
His reply is “There’s no ‘are not here yet.’”
“‘Are not here yet’ is all gone.”
What Jonah is telling me basically is “Daddy, you are full of crap. You have my friends. I can see them right here. Give them back!”
