Dear School District…

Dear School District

I appreciate you approving Jonny’s transportation request to take the bus to and from school and informing the bus drivers.

It would have been nice if you had also informed his school or his teacher… or at least his parents.

I received a message from the bus driver at 6:45am saying they were on their way to pick Jonny up.

We had no idea. I messaged his teacher and she had no idea if he was slated to ride a bus to school or home or WHAT bus he was supposed to board.

There was no communication with her or with us.

Understand, I am NOT complaining, as I fully expected you to just categorically deny our transportation request.

We just need an open dialogue. We are usually made aware a couple days or even weeks in advance so that we can confirm everyone is on the same page.

But we were given about 45 minutes notice.

Mama (who usually drops Jonny off at school before going to work), was unsure if she should wait to confirm the bus was coming as his pick-up time was later than they normally leave.

And then there was confusion about the exact location of his pickup and we watched as the bus drove by, stopping 6 houses away, and then driving off.

Jonny, who was initially excited about the idea of riding the bus, then became distraught because he missed it.

The one we didn’t know was coming.

Again, I appreciate your willingness to transport him. But next time, a “heads up” a day or two in advance would be nice.

Thanks,

#Ausome
