Ugh…..

Ugh…..

Ugh..
So Jonny tested positive yesterday.

Yeah. “That” positive.

Because last week just wasn’t quite hard enough.

There are too many emotions mixed up inside of me already and now with this, I almost just feel numb.

I need to talk this out.

Jonny is staying home from school for 10 days.

Jonah ALSO has to stay home from school for 10 days.

Minimum.

This is a problem.

While Jonny would be content to sit at home with his tablet recovering for 10 days in a row, Jonah can barely stand to spend 10 MINUTES at home.

It’s gonna be hard for Jonah to be “missing” that much school. He LOVES school.

Jonny has a remote learning option he can do.

But Jonah WILL NOT do remote learning. He regressed so far developmentally as a result of it last year.

All of the aggression, stress and anxiety he has felt lately started with us trying to make him sit in front of a lap top for 2 hours doing “school” through a screen. I won’t make him do it again.

I guess we just get a 2nd “winter break.” One where we just “stay home.”

Ugh. But Jonah HATES being cooped up in the house.

This typically is not a problem because I am usually able to take him places to expend all that energy.

Except now we can’t be around people…

That leaves practically one thing we can do. Go find the “geese.”
In the freezing cold.
And rain. 🥶😭

Jonah would probably be fine doing that for a couple weeks…

Except… Somebody needs to take care of the sick kid at home!

Oh, Mama can do it, right?

Except she tested NEGATIVE, and we really want to keep it that way.

She works as a nurse manager in the ICU and is a frontline worker. They are completely overwhelmed and understaffed right now. Mama needs to stay healthy.

Which means she can’t take care of a sick Bubba at home (unless she’s in full PPE…which is an option I guess, but not one she really wants to do since she is in full PPE ALL DAY!)…

We have thought about a lot of different quarantining situations, from sending her to my folks house, to renting an AIR BNB for her…

Ugh.

Or we just quarantine Jonny, which is a near impossibility with Jonah home.

Jonah cannot abide Jonny laying down. He screams at him just for laying on the couch.

He also doesn’t really respect Jonny’s “privacy rules” anymore since Jonny has been letting him in his room to play.

He’ll barge right in now. I can’t keep them separated in the house. It’s just not a battle worth fighting for me.

So what can we do?

We are staying home. And I’m trying to find as many enticing NEW toys as possible to keep Jonah in the house without destroying it.

What we ended up doing for Mama was setting her up in the garage so she can “quarantine” away from us.

The rest of us just get to be “sick” together in the house.

Obviously, I’m hoping to stay healthy and “NOT GET SICK.”

(I mean, someone has to take care of these kids, right?)

I don’t know if I currently have “it” or not, but I’m going to assume I do since I am constantly exposed daily taking care of the kids.

And ugh.

Jonnys up at 1am because he’s sick.

Jojo’s up at 4am… because he’s just “up.”

Daddy gets very little sleep. But Daddy NEEDS to stay healthy.

Can I just fast-forward the next couple weeks?

🤦‍♂️

Man. When it rains it pours.
