So this is quintessential Jonah.
He loves to laugh and he loves to be silly and make other people laugh.
Just before I started recording, Jonah had found a piece of driftwood shaped like a “banana.”
He was pretending to eat this piece of driftwood while giggling and saying “banana!”
(He won’t actually eat a real banana )
And me being the “stick in the mud” that I am told him not to put that in his mouth which prompted a belly laugh as he hurled it into the sea.
He then proceeded to say, “Daddy, I need help.”
Me: “help with what?”
Jojo: “Help with ‘go get the ‘banana!’ Bwahahaha!!”
Then he found a rock, and decided it looked like a piece of pizza and that’s about when I started recording.
I swear this kid… sometimes, I feel less like a parent and more like the “straight man” for Jonah’s comedy hour.
(Maybe I should tell him he “can’t eat new foods” so he will “tease me” into trying them.
Like, “Don’t you eat those veggies!!” )
**A couple translations:
“GO DOWN!” When Jojo says “Go down,” he means he wants to climb down between/beneath the giant rocks (something I said he could not do. Every time I tell him “no,” he giggles about it.)
“MILK!” There is a clip on Jojo’s tablet where Jonah wants to drink milk that’s been left out all day. I tell him that he can’t drink it because it’s “yucky.” Jonah thought that was hilarious and continually teased me that he was going to drink it, even after I threw it away.
