Exactly this.
I have had to “retrain” my brain into seeing the unique qualities that make Jonah “JONAH” and eliminate the point of view that sees other kids, compares them with MY kid, and finds every little deficiency.
That is the land of comparison.
That is the land of “not good enough,” and let me tell you something…
If you live your life comparing your child to other children, you will NEVER find fulfillment as a parent.
You will look at your child and you will not see a person, you will only ever see a “problem.”
And that is not something ANY child should have to endure from their parents.
Comparison is a THIEF of joy…
…for both parents, and children.
