So we are trying to…

So we are trying to figure out how to do in-person speech therapy for Jonah when there is an obstruction in front of the therapist’s mouth (like a mask or a face shield).

It may be difficult for students to see and hear the pronunciation of the words during their sessions when they can’t see the therapists mouth moving clearly.

And then I suggested perhaps they could record themselves saying the words ahead of time and then refer to the video during their sessions.

Which reminded me of a program we used when Jonah was 3 years old (4 years ago) and virtually nonverbal. I even reviewed it on video (seen here).

The result from a few months using this program was the first and biggest speech & communication breakthrough we have ever had on our own with Jonah.

Gemiini.

We used it until we had in-person speech services of our own and we were very happy with how much Jonah learned.

Obviously, these are not ‘typical’ results, but they were OUR results.

I thought I would share if you were looking for other at-home or remote options for ‘speech’ therapy.

*Dislcaimer: I am not affiliated with Gemiini in any way shape or form. This review is from early 2017 and I have NO idea how Gemiini is different now than back then. I don’t know their current pricing or if their systems have changed. I just wanted to show you something that worked for US.
(I DO know they updated their website to make it much more user-friendly.)

Edit to the video:”Gemiini is NOT a substitution for speech therapy it is best used in conjunction with traditional speech therapy just to clarify.”
