Took the boys out fishing with Papa today.

Jonah has only been on Papas boat one other time and didn’t have the patience to just hold a fishing pole.

It was much more fun to pretend to cast and splash the pole up and down over and over into the water. He lasted maybe half an hour… while Jonny whined to go back in over and over again.

Today, both boys made it three hours on the boat.

Jonah got the hang of it this time and was content to just sit and hold the pole, just enjoying being outside on a boat and watching the water.

And then Jonah caught his very first fish! He reeled it in all by himself! (Sorry for the poor video quality. I was a bit distracted)

Papa and Jonah kept catching more and more. (Papa had 2. Jonah had 2.) And after 2 and a half hours, Jonny still hadn’t caught any.

He was getting frustrated.

But instead of whining about leaving, he was determined to stay out there until he finally caught one.

And about 3 hours in, both boys caught a fish at the EXACT same time, and both reeled them in on their own.

Jonny was so happy. Both boys were… papa was happy to spend time fishing with the boys…

Heck, we ALL were pretty happy.

Jonah did not want to leave. He was finally convinced after he learned a harsh lessons about “sticker-bushes” when he tried to start hitting them in protest.

Ah well.

It was still a good day.
