So much of this journey is patience. The hardest part is figuring out when to ‘wait it out’ or when to make changes. And then through all the anxiety, remembering, “He will figure it all in his own time and space.” …and might I add “in his own WAY.” …whatever “it” is. (Still love this from Stories About Autism)
Back in 2017, 200 new words were added to the Maori language to describe mental health, addiction and disability issues. The words were chosen not only to fill gaps in the Maori language, but also to ensure they were non-judgemental. For autism they chose “Takiwātanga” which means “in his/her own time and space” Beautiful ❤️
