Week 2 of summer break. Jonah has been carrying around a “travel” brochure from Costco and looking intently through it for the last 2 days.

When I ask him about the picture of 2 water slides, he smiles and covers his ears.

When Jonah covers his ears, it means he is experiencing an “intense” emotion, and it is not always bad.

In fact, it usually conveys excitement to us.

His way of letting me know that “why yes, he would really REALLY REALLY like to go to these water slides…”

“… in the Caribbean.”
