I get it. Honestly, there was a time that I simply didn’t care to know about autism because it didn’t effect us.
And yet I had all kinds of ‘parenting opinions.’ Opinions on ‘discipline. Opinions on screen time. Opinions on diet.
When they mentioned the possibility of autism with Jonah, I even had an ‘opinion’ on that.
And yet I was still ignorant. And looking back, here’s something that I have learned that I would have told myself years ago.

When your entire experience with “autism” is streamed ‘through a screen,’ don’t presume to “know all about autism.”
Whatever you “think” about it, trust me…
…you are wrong.
