Thank you just for being there.

To listen when I feel upset.
To do the things that I neglect.

To stand up for me when I need it.
To calm my anger and not feed it.

To meet my needs that are unspoken.
To bind me up when I feel broken.

To hold me when I cannot stand.
To fight when I no-longer can.

You step outside your comfort zone.
To let me stay inside my own.

You lift me up to better see.
You’re making me a better me.

If one day our ways should part,
