I took the boys bowling today…

…by myself.

Six months ago, I wouldn’t have thought it possible.

A loud bowling alley. Lots of noise. Lots of lanes to run down. Lots of room to elope…

…”Bowling shoes” to wear…

And yet, today, I decided to take them.

And they did GREAT!

Jonah wore the shoes without so much as a fuss. He picked out his ball. He took turns with me and Jonny and he just had an absolute blast.

I think a lot of the success is attributed to the fact that Jonah has watched a lot of bowling videos I’ve taken of his brother… like A LOT of videos. (Or the same video a LOT of times).

He understands the expectations.

He protested once when it was time to leave (after 2 whole games) but did exactly what was asked of him when he needed to. Right down to holding my hand in the parking lot.

It went better than I could have ever imagined a few months back.

We went bowling. We had fun. We had huge victories and it was ALL a positive experience. (Look at the smile here!)
