I’ve been there.

I’ve been there.

I’ve been there.

If I’m being honest, I’ve been both people in this meme.

Some days, I see all the progress Jonah is making and I am incredibly grateful because I know how far we have come, and how much “worse” it could be.

Some days, my day is MADE just by a hug and a smile from Jonah. I can’t imaging life being any “different” …

Life is just a “rainbow.”

I’ve been there.

Other days, all I can see is the RAIN. When it seems NOTHING goes right.

Sometimes, I feel like the biggest failure. I’ve fed Jonah ice cream sandwiches for breakfast because that’s the ONLY food he would eat.

I’ve endured the 3-hour meltdowns ranging all over the house in the middle of the night where things are broken and thrown everywhere… when it is just a victory if nobody is seriously hurt.

I’ve been there.

I’ve given up on getting Jonah dressed and thrown him in the car stark naked while both kids are having a meltdown in the desperate hope that maybe being in the car MIGHT calm them down before we get to school.

I’ve been scared to take Jonah places with childcare because he’s the kid who hits all the other kids…the kid who pushes the toddlers down because he thinks the sound of crying babies is “funny.”

I’ve been there.

Some days you see the beauty. Other days, all you see are the rain clouds… silently wondering if it will EVER be sunny again.

And wherever you are in your journey, I hope you are still able to see the beauty of a rainbow.
