So “swimming.”

A vital skill for anyone, but especially for those who are particularly drawn to the water.

We have had Jonny in 4 different swimming lessons…. he’s never made it out of “swimming 1” because he was scared of putting his face in the water.

We needed something more 1:1.

We tried semi-private lessons for both boys (one teacher for both kids).

That turned out to be a mistake.

The first lesson, when the teacher was helping Jonah out, Jonny was not paying ANY attention to the instructor and just stimming away with the water..

When the instructor would work with Jonny, Jonah bolted for the deep end. Mama had to jump in to keep him corralled.

So we hired private instructors for BOTH kids.

We have been going once a week for the last 12 weeks or so.

And WHAT a difference it has made.

Jonny has overcome his fear of putting his face in the water.

Jonah just needs “guidance.” He doesn’t ever need redirection or ANYTHING when he is in the water… because it is ALL preferred and he will do or try to do anything the instructor says with a HUGE grin.

Jonah continually pushes himself to do more and more. He’s got a feel for his “limit,” but always wants to push it further.

He’s come so far.

We are gonna keep doing this until both boys can swim independently.

However long it takes.
