Jonah ROCKED Mama’s work Christmas party tonight.
I was shooting photos for Mama’s coworkers and it was in a place Jonah had never been so I was nervous about how Jojo would do.
I thought he might run around the whole time. I thought he might open all the presents for the gift exchange. I thought he might try to eat the uncut cake, or at least put his hands all in it and smear it everywhere before anyone could eat any. I thought he might run straight out the door…
He did none of those things.
They had a “cookie decorating” table set up for the kids and Jonah went straight for it. He probably spent 20 minutes meticulously decorating cookies with just enough frosting (to go with an entire bottle of sprinkles). He even did it with other kids at the tables and shared the different toppings with the other kids…
He wandered around the room the rest of the time, giving Santa high fives and eating more cookies.
We tried to get him to take a picture with Santa, but that was a no-go.
We stayed for about an hour. He got to eat some cookies, play with frosting and sprinkles, and even came and sat with the group at the end for a group picture.
When I started to get my coat on to go, Jonah found his coat and hat and brought them to me. He actually had fun!
Sometimes you get so used to things going wrong or at least not going “nicely,” It is so nice when things go off without a hitch!
It is a genuine surprise!
