Hand-leading was the first form of communication Jonah used.

If he wanted something from the top shelf, he used to lead me by the hand and then “throw” my hand toward what he wanted.

In the last month or so, we have been able to shape that into “pointing” at the object (which is a huge victory).

Now, if he has trouble letting me know what he wants, I will put his hand on top of mine and tell him to “show me.”

Just as he did when he was 18 mos old.
