Jonny and Daddy had … (video)

Jonny and Daddy had a special day for Jonny’s birthday. He has a party with his friends later on, but this was something special just for us.

It was all a surprise for Jonny.

First, we got up (at 6am) and opened ONLY the presents from Grandma and Grandpa. (The rest are for his party)

Then we dropped Jonah off at camp, where he would be most of the day, and we embarked on a single solitary quest to have as much fun as we could in a single day.

It started out at Starbucks for a sugar cookie and some chocolate milk, then to the Disney store where Jonny was presented with the “key to the store” and was the first customer in after their daily “opening ceremony.”

He scored a new Woody from Toy Story and Jack-Jack from The Incredibles (and a “happy birthday” button to go along with his “key” to the store). They also put his name up on a huge big screen and sang him happy birthday.

The day started off with a bang.

Then we went off to a family fun center where we got to go bowling, play mini-golf, drive go-carts, play laser tag, eat pizza, drink slushees and Gatorade, and play all the video games in the world…

From there it was off to cold stones creamery for some ice cream. Jonny had the idea of doing things for other people on is birthday so we bought an ice cream gift card and Jonny gave it to a little girl in line behind us. It made her day.

While we were finishing up our ice cream, the little girl came up to Jonny and gave him a prize she had also won at the family fun center.

When we got to the car, Jonny said, “can we find more people to do things like that for, Daddy?” I told him we could, but we had to pick up Jojo first.

That was the best part of the day for me.

We are still gathering toys up to give away.

After that, it was playing with the new toys at home, stuffed crust pizza and bread sticks, and topped off with a delicious birthday cake.

Jonny said it was the best day, EVER!

I would tend to agree.
