I snapped this pictu…

I snapped this picture last week while we were visiting family. This was across the river from my in-laws.

A forest fire had broken out in a fairly populated area.

We walked to a local park and everyone had dropped what they were doing to watch. There were about a dozen different aircraft dropping water on the flames to try to save the local properties.

It seemed everyone wanted to just stop and stare.

Cars stopped in the middle of the road. People were climbing on top of rooftops to get a better look.

But Jonah?

Jojo found a playground with a slide AND a drinking fountain that sent water down a little ramp before emptying into a drain.

Sensory heaven.

He could not care less about a forest fire less than a mile away.

It made me realize something. I have no idea how I would go about getting Jonah to do what we would need him to do if we were in an ACTUAL emergency (several neighborhoods had to be evacuated).

How would I be able to explain an emergency in a way he would understand?

How do you even prepare for that?
