Here in the Pacific Northwest, it is usually pretty temperate.
Not many around here have air conditioning (us included). It’s not usually necessary.
This week it has been 95°F/35°C.
When the house gets unbearably hot, normally, I open the windows and turn on the fans.
Until you add the “Jonah factor.” The kid loves to climb.
If Jonah is home, the windows stay shut, especially the upstairs windows.
Most of the time.
Today, I found him perched on our 2nd story window sill with nothing but a window screen protecting him from a 10 foot drop.
I forgot to close the windows today. Luckily, we did not have an accident. But it only takes ONE time.
So I thought I would make this meme to remind myself (and you too.)
In these hot summer months, make sure to secure your windows.
Better to be “hot” than at the hospital.
