Using “parent language” with adults?

Have you ever just fallen into the routine of using your “parent language” without even realizing you are doing it?

Aside from telling people I had to “go potty” instead of “use the restroom,” I’ve also used ” ni-night” instead of “goodnight” and asked if someone is “ah-dun!” instead of “are you finished?”

Yep. I’ve said that. With other adults…

And then, just to throw in some Ausome phrases… I’ve said to other adults…

“It looks like you need help. Need help?”
“FIRST can you [do the thing]? Then I will [do the things].”

What “parenting phrases” have you used unconsciously with other adults?
