I wrote about Jonah’…

I wrote about Jonah’s meltdown in the store the other day…

This was immediately after we got home. I let Jonah regulate a bit by playing with water sensory stuff. This usually helps calm him…

But yesterday…

Well, We flooded the kitchen yesterday… and when I say “we”, I mean Jonah was playing with the kitchen sink and I foolishly thought it was his “usual” thing.

He usually dumps the water back in the sink.

Not yesterday.

He started playing “as he usually does” for about 5 minutes.

He asked for “space” and I gave it to him.

And then the water was going … elsewhere.

I was standing like 5 feet away from him and didn’t notice where the water was going until it was too late.

Water was all over the kitchen. Inside the cabinets. All over the hardwood.

I used virtually every towel we own and had to spread out all the cabinet contents all over the kitchen to dry.

It was just compounded by the fact that Jonny was begging for dinner at the same time I was cleaning up all the water.

I told him to look at what I was dealing with before asking me for anything else. He wouldn’t be having anything for a while.

Then Jonny hit me with this line.

“You’re doing a really good job, Dad. I’m so proud of you!

And Um. I think the cat pooped upstairs.

…also, Jonah needs a diaper change but it’s okay now because he is now naked. “

🤪😩
