It’s been kind of a …

It’s been kind of a ‘meh’ day. As soon as it is dark out (around here about 5pm right now) Jonah insists on having the lights turned off.

Even when his therapist is here. I was thinking it might be a sensory issue, but he’s not reacting poorly when we turn the lights back on. He just goes and turns them back off with a slight grin.

To me, that says it is a ‘control’ issue. He has also been climbing up on the dining table and standing up with a big grin, looking for a response. His therapist says that it’s pretty normal once they come home from school with very regimented strict schedules to want to ‘push the boundaries’, but it has just been happening for the last 3 or 4 days’

And even though it may just be a ‘control’ issue, not related at all to autism (but to just being a 4-year-old), his therapist wanted to work with Jonah on Jojo’s terms. And bless his heart, they did as much of the therapy as they could IN THE DARK. Jojo went along with it just fine.

But by the end, he just wanted to snuggle with Daddy. I could tell he was fatigued/tired so that may also be a contributing factor. He didn’t even see his therapist to the door when it was time for him to leave, which he has been doing consistently for the past 3 months.
