I always tell other parents looking at getting their child diagnosed this:

Don’t let the opinion of a stranger (“expert” or not) who spends a few hours with your child define how you view your child.

You already know who your child is. You know your child better than ANYONE else.

Some services just require an “official” autism diagnosis to obtain. Advocate for the services. Don’t even worry about “labels.”
