Jonah’s late bedtime…

Jonah’s late bedtime around midnight prompted me to give him an extra sippy cup last night to help him fall asleep. So he woke up soaking wet about 4am.

I went to change him and he didn’t want to be changed. I changed the pull up but he didn’t want any pants back on. And then he was cold. He wanted to be picked up, but then he didn’t want me to hold him. Long story short…

Meltdown at 4am.

There were no real triggers or warnings. It was 0 to screaming flailing meltdown in under 5 seconds.

On a positive note, he didn’t try to hit me in the face…. as a matter of fact, I don’t recall ANY malicious hitting.

He only threw one toy. And he didn’t fixate on getting it back out to throw it again when I put it up out of reach. That is definite progress, though the meltdown itself lasted an hour.

In the end I held him until I could sneak a pair of pajama pants on him and he calmed down nearly instantly.

He fell asleep on top of me on the couch.

He’s still out cold.
