To all you nurses. To all you mothers out there. Thank you. (video)

We just wrapped up National Nurses week.

My wife has been in nursing for over 15 years in Critical Care.

I could not do what she does.

I do graphic design work.

When I have a bad day at work, maybe I’ve missed a deadline, lost money or a client. It can be stressful.

When SHE has a bad day at work, it usually means people died.

And she does it day in and day out. I can’t begin to imagine the emotional roller coaster that comes with caring for people who are dealing with life-threatening illnesses AND their families who are dealing with it as well.

All day. Day in and day out.

And then coming home to be “Mommy.”

I don’t complain to her about changing diapers, or how “little sleep” I’ve gotten or ask her “what’s for dinner.” Because she has changed diapers and bed pans of complete strangers. She has worked 12 hour shfts starting at 6am before… and she may not have eaten all day herself by the time she gets home.

Nurses have a heart of gold. Jojo and I took her and all her nurses coffee last week at the hospital to show a bit of our appreciation.

To all you nurses.

To all you mothers out there.

Thank you.
