A tale of sleep

Last night he had a late nap (almost 3 hours) and I gave him melatonin to go to sleep at bed time.

It worked okay. He was down by about 10:30pm (usual bedtime is 9-9:30).

He woke up at 2:30am and crawled into bed with us. He was obviously restless and could not sleep. He started kicking both of us and singing/babbling.

So I put him back in his bed and proceeded to sleep on the floor in his bedroom.

Jojo did not want me to have a pillow (from our room in HIS room).

And blast it if I didn’t “accidentally” maliciously destroy the gigantic teddy bear Jonah previously disemboweled that I used to use for a pillow.

So I had to improvise with an assortment of cast-off shelved stuffed animals as a pillow and no blanket on the floor.

Jojo probably finally fell back asleep around 4am.

He woke up ready to roll at a quarter to 6am.

That’s about how much sleep he got.

(Notice, I can tell you when he was asleep/awake. That’s how much sleep I got.)

I know some of you have it FAR worse so I don’t want to make this a pity party…

I gave him melatonin again tonight to fall asleep after another late nap.

Sometimes I wonder about addiction to melatonin…and if that’s a bad thing…and how much it takes to become addicted.

Or maybe, it’s an addiction of me just wanting to give it to him like every night.

That could be. I’ll tell you in the morning.

-goodnight everyone!
