1983-1984 – Mom takes the cake…

Something must be said about the creativity my mom put into making our home a happy and fun home. By all standards, we were not wealthy. We did not own a television or anything remotely luxurious and most of our possessions were 2nd or 3rd generation.

Instead watching tv or movies, we found ways to make our own fun. My mom especially enjoyed making cakes for us.

My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed “licking the beaters” after my mom was done mixing up chocolate or frosting.

When we were young, my mom made every effort to make sure we were healthy. This meant no sweets, or junk food and plenty of exercise.

My mom was a double major (Art/Recreation) and she excelled at both. She would say she is not artistic but I tend to think otherwise. I mean come on. These are works of art! Coincidentally, I turned out to be an art major and my sister majored in Recreation.
